Calls to end greyhound racing have intensified after a night of “carnage” at a Perth suburban race track that saw four dogs injured and two euthanased.
Races at the Cannington greyhound track were abandoned on Wednesday night after race seven of a scheduled 12, after the four dogs were injured, according to Racing and Wagering WA (RWWA).
Canning Mayor Patrick Hall has urged the state government to “read the room” and set a date for transitioning the state away from greyhound racing.
